Drag your font files into the Fonts folder or use File → Install new Font. From the menu. Any fonts you install should be usable in any Windows application, including OpenOffice.org. However some applications only look for a list of fonts that they can use when the applications are opened. OpenOffice is configured to automatically use the fonts installed to Windows, which works out nicely if you use OpenOffice and Microsoft Office on the same. OpenType fonts should work with OpenOffice.org 3.2 (unless there is a bug somewhere in either the font or OOo). An alternative to InDesign could be Scribus (also available in the Ubuntu repositories). How do I install fonts? Ask Question 241. Question says it all. I need them to be available in gimp. Like OpenOffice Writer, before they actually show the new fonts (usually such programs are caching the font list when they start up). Note that if you want to install mscorefonts you need to manually download this package packages.

How to get opentype fonts in .otf format working on Ubuntu and OpenOffice 3.2?
Wireless xbox 360 controller driver charge and play kit pc. It would be great if I could use opentype features in OOo, but I'll be glad enough if I could use them even converted to TTF.
I've tried numerous ways described on the net, but with no success. For now, I succeeded with using OTF fonts in Inkscape.

In at least since jaunty, I've never even thought about font support, it just works. I think the magic is contained in the fontconfig package. Men at work land down under download.
